Erika Mark - Founder & Creator Black Cake

Black Cake founder and creator, Erika Mark, journey began in Youngstown Ohio where she grew up. At a young age, her parents encouraged her to be the creative, independent, unique, free spirit she is today.  Much of her childhood was spent playing dress up in her grandmother’s vintage slips and jewels. 

Erika took the first steps in pursuing her dreams by studying fashion in Philadelphia and in Florence, Italy. After returning to the states, she moved west to pursue her career in fashion - seeking the individuality, freedom, and magic of Hollywood. Erika has worked with such high fashion names as Betsey Johnson, Baby Phat, Nanette Lepore, and Christian Audigier.

Black Cake Clothing's epic adventure began when Erika stumbled across a magical box of vintage clothing at an estate sale. She had no idea, then, that Black Cake would evolve into the luxury clothing line it is today. Erika has worked hard to evolve Black Cake into a brand that indulges the essence of Hollywood glam, rock n roll luxury, and the bombshell Marilyn Monroe.  

Erika is involved in every aspect of her business.  Proudly American made, Black Cake caters to a women's femininity, confidence and individuality.
